New Year's resolutions

Just like peoples do, Tim had a hard time keeping his New Year’s resolutions.
On January 1, he wrote a list of New Year’s resolutions such as quit smoking, studying English, thinking that he would keep his promise. At the end of January, Tim had broken half of the resolutions because he was too busy to practice. As the months went on, his will goes weaken, so he broke even more resolutions. When the year ended, he realized that he had not kept a single resolution. As usually, he regretted his feeble will and thought keeping his promise next year.
cf) Even though he knows that he may not keep the resolutions, he always writes a list of New Year's resolutions every December.
